We are working with the Department for Work and Pensions on the disability confidence scheme, enabling us to support individuals who have a recognised learning disability but want to have meaningful work experience opportunities. Our neighbours Starbucks are supporting us on this venture.
Our partner Sports Traider is a national charity who are focused on supporting disadvantaged people to fulfil their sporting ambition. Lance Haggith, the founder of Sports Traider has previously won BBC Sports Personality Of The Year’s “unsung hero” award and the charities efforts were recognised by former British Prime Minister David Cameron. Sports Traider are working with Brookside to improve the wellbeing of our clients.
The Social Care Commitment is the adult social care sector’s promise to provide people who need care and support with high quality services. It is made up of seven ‘I will’ statements, with associated tasks. Each commitment will focus on the minimum standards required when working in care at Brookside all of our staff will commit to these statements and training and supervision will support this.
